Reading Commons Home Invasion Not a Random Act

Residents of the apartment complex were told this morning that a home invasion that occurred there Monday was not a random act.

“I have spoken to the Police Station and they have reassured me that this was not a random act,” said Sara Pouladian, Reading Commons’ property manager in an email to residents Tuesday morning. 

“The suspects knew each other and there was no forced entry,” she said. 

Channel 7 News reported last night that two men invaded an apartment within the complex Monday, then pistol-whipped and kicked the resident before taking his money.

The victim, Channel 7 News reported, identified a vehicle used in the crime. Reading police stopped the car and arrested an as-yet unnamed 20-year old driver. The vehicle contained Percocet, marijuana and cash, Fox 25 News reported.

Police are also interested in speaking with Quinlan Junta, the son of “” Thomas Junta in connection with the crime.

Police have called the younger Junta a "person of interest" and said they would like a word with him. The elder Junta was recently after completing the sentence given to him for the 2000 killing of another father at a Reading hockey practice.
