Reading Police Seeking Candidates to Join Department

The department is holding an entrance examination on February 15.

After leaving the civil service system, the Reading Police Department is now responsible for its own search for new members of the department. And in about a month, the town will begin its search.

Reading is holding a new entrance examination on February 15 inside Reading Memorial High School, according to its Facebook page.

Police Exam Solutions will administer the test, and interested candidates can register online at the group's website.

In order to be considered for appointment to the Reading Police Department, candidates must meet a variety of criteria. That includes passing a the entrance exam, passing oral interviews and passing a thorough background check before employment.

Anyone with questions about the entrance exam can contact Sgt. David Clark via telephone at (781) 942-6765 or by email at dclark@ci.reading.ma.us.
