String of Car Break-Ins Reported and New Memory Chip Full of Pornographic Photos Purchased, Reading

The following is an excerpt from the Reading Police Department log from Monday through Tuesday. The information is open to the public.

Monday, Dec. 10

  • At 8:28 a.m., a Harvard Street resident reported that her vehicle was entered and wallet missing.
  • At 8:30 a.m., a Bond Street resident reported that his two vehicles were broken into overnight.
  • At 8:59 a.m., an Arcadia Avenue resident reported that her two motor vehicles were broken into overnight.
  • At 10:05 a.m., a Dudley Street resident reported that his vehicle was broken into overnight.
  • At 10:30 a.m., a Johnson Woods Drive resident reported unauthorized charges on his debit card.
  • At 12:55 p.m., a caller reported a car accident on Harnden Street. No injuries were reported. 
  • At 1:55 p.m., a Bancroft Avenue resident reported that his two motor vehicles were entered the night before and change was taken.
  • At 2:38 p.m., a caller reported an unwanted guest at the First Baptist Church. The caller reported that a male was hiding in the bathroom and left when police were called. Police located the male and transported him to the depot to wait for a train.
  • At 5:39 p.m., a Vine Street resident reported that her car was entered and ransacked overnight.
  • At 6:56 p.m., a Harvard Street resident reported that his car was entered overnight. An iPod and change were taken.
  • At 7:07 p.m., a Hancock Street resident reported that his three motor vehicles were entered overnight. An iPod Nano was taken.

Tuesday, Dec. 11

  • At 8:40 a.m., a caller reported a homeless male in the yard of a vacant house on Sweetser Avenue. The male was sent on his way.
  • At 9:16 a.m., a caller reported a car accident on Main Street. The injuries were unknown.
  • At 11:44 a.m., a caller reported buying a new memory chip for her phone and finding pornographic photos on it. 
  • At 2:55 p.m., a caller reported a car accident on Harnden Street. No injuries were reported.
