Threatening a Referee, OUI and a Construction Fall

The following information was supplied by the Reading police department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

The following is a look at some of the calls handled by the Reading Police Department from Monday through Tuesday. The information is open to the public.

Monday, July 15

  • At 12:29 p.m. a man was at Gray’s Towing attempting to obtain a vehicle, and it was determined he was wanted on a warrant. As a result, Ruben E. Torres, 57, of 366 Ocean Ave., Revere, was arrested on an outstanding warrant.
  • At 12:41 p.m. a vehicle was reportedly leaking fuel on Temple Street.
  • At 9:38 p.m. on Line Road and officer noticed erratic operation by a driver. As a result, Kathleen M. Laquidara, 48, of 398 Ridge Street, Arlington, was arrested and charged with operating under the influence of liquor.

Tuesday, July 16

  • At 9:51 a.m. a man was reportedly hit with wood at a construction site and fell about 15-20 feet. The man was transported to Lahey Clinic in an ambulance and the incident was investigated.
  • At 2:19 p.m. a resident called police to report vandalism greater than $250. The caller told police that a green substance was poured all over their vehicle.
  • At 4:04 p.m. on Main and Haven Street a resident reported a hit and run on their vehicle.
  • At 6:31 p.m. a Market Basket caller witnessed a vehicle hit a parked car and then drive away.
  • At 9:41 p.m. on the field at Reading Memorial High School on Oakland Road, a parent was reportedly threatening a referee.
