Trash Can Fire Reported, Man Comes Home With Bloody Face

The following information was compiled based on reports from the Reading Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Arrests

On Tuesday, Nov. 26, police arrested Mark Muldowney, 49, of 133 Franklin Street, Stoneham, on an outstanding warrant.

Sunday, Nov. 24

  • At 4:06 a.m. police were called for suspicious activity on Main Street. A woman was banging on a door in the hallways and yelling.
  • At 8:12 a.m. a trash can was on fire on Woburn Street. The Fire Department was called to the scene.
  • At 10:11 a.m. a pastor at a Reading church was unable to speak and disoriented, so an ambulance was called.
  • At 11:35 a.m. a Prescott Street resident reported damage to a horse post in the home’s front yard.
  • At 9:41 p.m. an emergency box was struck due to the odor of smoke inside a Haven Street residence.

Monday, Nov. 25

  • At 1:26 a.m. three screens were found out of the windows of a Main Street building.
  • At 8:39 a.m. a water main break was reported on Hanscom Ave.
  • At 12:28 p.m. a woman on Pearl Street feels that someone opened the gate to her back yard.
  • At 7:53 p.m. a possible argument or fight was taking place in front of a Grand Street residence. 

Tuesday, Nov. 26

  • At 12:26 a.m. a mother on Avon Street reported that her adult son came home with a bleeding face.
  • At 6:07 p.m. a suspicious voicemail message was left for a Woburn Street resident.
  • At 9:29 p.m. a two car crash occurred with no injuries on Walkers Brook Drive.
