Two North Reading Residents Arrested for Drugs

The following information was supplied by the North Reading police department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

The following is a look at some of the calls handled by the North Reading Police Department from Friday through Tuesday. The information is open to the public.

Arrests

At 5:16 p.m. Saturday, Maria J. McNeil, 19, of 10 Greene St. was arrested on charges of possession of a class B substance and Aaron M. Cantrell, 23, of 46 Main St. #4 was arrested on charges of possession of a class B substance. Both parties were arrested on Main Street.

At 6:26 p.m. Tuesday, Vincent Desiderio, 45, of 16 Stewart Rd. was arrested on charges of violating an abuse prevention order.

Friday, Sept. 14

  • At 2:58 p.m., as the result of a motor vehicle stop on Main Street, a driver was issued a bylaw citation for possession of marijuana.
  • At 4:37 p.m., a resident reported that her son told her that two boys were going to fight on the common. Police found both boys and brought them to the station where they called their parents. The parents picked up their children and were informed about the incident.
  • At 4:44 p.m., a caller reported that three hubcaps were stolen off her car while it was parked on Lowell Road.

Saturday, Sept. 15

  • At 10:34 a.m., a caller reported a car accident on Park Street. One person was transported to the hospital.
  • At 3:22 p.m., a caller reported a car accident on Park Street. No injuries were reported.

Sunday, Sept. 16

  • At 12:15 p.m., a caller reported that her phone was missing and may have been stolen from Marshalls. After leaving the store and arriving at her car she realized that her phone was missing and when she went inside to look for it, the phone was gone.
  • At 12:30 p.m., a caller reported erratic operation on Main Street. Police were unable to locate the vehicle.
  • At 12:42 p.m., a caller reported that her daughter's phone was stolen from China Cuisine.
  • At 2:17 p.m., a caller reported a car accident on Park Street. No injuries were reported.

Monday, Sept. 17

  • At 5:35 p.m., a Lowell Road resident reported that a male knocked on her door several times and when she looked out the male placed his arm up against the door so she could not see out. The male left the area and police were unable to locate him.
  • At 3:21 p.m., a resident walked into the police station to report that some of his items were taken while he was in long term medical care at the Sunbridge Care and Rehabilitation center.
  • At 8:22 p.m., a caller reported a car accident on Turner Drive. The driver was transported to the hospital.
  • At 8:35 p.m., a Burroughs Road resident reported that she believes someone tried to break into her house. Police saw no signs of an intruder. 

Tuesday, Sept. 18

  • At 1:46 a.m., a Lowell Road resident reported hearing glass breaking and could see broken glass near another apartment from her balcony. An officer reported to the scene and saw the broken glass and a blood trail leading to the second floor of the apartment building then back down the rear stairs. Police determined that a male damaged his car and then broke the glass on the front door of an apartment building, but they are still investigating the incident.
  • At 8:22 a.m., a Park Street resident reported a past breaking and entering.
  • At 7:59 p.m., a caller reported that a tree fell on a vehicle on Haverhill Street.
