Two Residents Arrested for Alcohol and Drugs, With the Intent to Distribute, in Reading

The following is an excerpt from the  log from Friday through Monday. The information is open to the public.

Arrests

At 7:53 p.m. Saturday, Joseph Staffier, 18, of 65 Ashley Place, was arrested on South Street for possession of a class D substance with the intent to distribute, possession of a class B substance, minor in possession of alcohol and forged license. Daniel Staffier, 18, of 65 Ashley Place, was also arrested on South Street for possession of a class D substance with the intent to distribute and minor in the possession of alcohol.

Friday, June 22 

  • At 9:48 a.m., a caller reported a car accident on Main Street. No injuries were reported.
  • At 11:52 a.m., a caller reported a hit and run car accident on Middlessex Avenue.
  • At 12:08 p.m., a caller reported receiving a harassing Instagram message that talks about kidnapping a child.
  • At 1:24 p.m., a caller reported a car accident on Lakeview Avenue. No injuries were reported.
  • At 8:55 p.m., an employee from reported receiving a counterfeit $20 bill.

Saturday, June 23

  • At 10:31 a.m., a Scotland Road resident reported that his window was shot with a pellet overnight.
  • At 1:29 p.m., a caller reported that his motorcycle taillight was smashed.
  • At 6:49 p.m., a caller reported youths tipping over trash barrels on Washington Street.
  • At 10:21 p.m., a caller reported a loud group of youths disturbing neighbors in the Washington Street area.

Sunday, June 24

  • At 12:27 a.m., a caller reported a loud house party on Orange Street. Police spoke with the homeowner who said it was a graduation party and they agreed to quiet down for the night.
  • At 12:56 a.m., a caller reported a loud house party on Beaver Road. The homeowner said he would shut down the party.
  • At 7:47 a.m., a caller reported a car accident on Lowell Street. No injuries were reported.
  • At 9:04 a.m., a caller reported a car accident on Main Street. The injuries are unknown.
  • At 10:05 p.m., an Anson Lane resident reported that his mailbox was damaged overnight.
  • At 8:44 p.m., a caller reported a car accident on Bancroft Avenue. No injuries were reported.

Monday, June 25

  • At 12:57 p.m., a caller reported a car accident on West Street. Tires fell off a truck and hit a car. No injuries were reported. 
  • At 12:58 p.m., a Jacob Way resident reported that the jack hammer attachment for his caterpillar was taken.
