Wilmington Resident Arrested on Multiple Charges in Reading

The following is an excerpt from the  log from Friday through Monday. The information is open to the public.

Arrests

At 2:01 p.m. on Saturday, Michael O'Malley, 28, of 7 Wilie Place, Wakefield, was arrested on Salem Street on a Winchester warrant for malicious destruction.

At 10:52 p.m. on Saturday, a resident reported a male and female arguing outside on Main Street. As the result of two males fighting, Anthony Almeida, 25, of 3 Sachem Circle, Wilmington, was arrested for assault and battery, disturbing the peace and disorderly conduct.

At 12:08 p.m. on Monday, a fugitive from justice out of Baltimore, Maryland, Douglas Melansons, 42, of 50 Bay State Road, was arrested on a Baltimore warrant on Bay State Road.

Friday, May 18

• At 7:15 a.m., a caller reported a motor vehicle accident on Haverhill Street. A motorcycle crashed into the back of a car. No injuries were reported.
• At 7:56 a.m., an officer found vandalism on the front of the .
• At 9:29 a.m., a caller reported a suspicious man on Salem Street. The man was recording people from inside of his motor vehicle.
• At 9:54 a.m., a Tennyson Road resident reported graffiti on the side of his jeep.
• At 10:33 a.m., a resident walked into the police station to report harassing phone calls.
• At 11:53 a.m., a Jessica Circle resident reported credit card fraud.
• At 12:05 p.m., a Linnea Lane resident reported harassing phone calls from Jamaica.
• At 1:47 p.m., a Sandra Lane resident reported that her GPS was stolen from her car.
• At 2:50 p.m., an Old Farm Road resident reported harassing phone calls.
• At 3:06 p.m., a caller reported a three-car accident on Summer Avenue. The injuries were unknown.
• At 8:44 p.m., a caller reported youths in the area of Summer Avenue egging houses.
• At 11:09 p.m., a caller reported a house party with possible underage drinking on Elliot Street. 

Saturday, May 19

• At 12:44 p.m., a caller reported a car accident on Haverhill Street. The injuries were unknown.
• At 12:48 p.m., a Glen Road resident reported that several folding tables were taken from his yard.
• At 3:19 p.m., a caller reported a car accident on Lowell Street. No injuries were reported.
• At 7:37 p.m., a resident walked into the police station to report that her car was hit while parked on Pleasant Street. 
• At 8:30 p.m., a caller reported that someone was harassing her by posting pictures of her on the Internet.
• At 9:35 p.m., a caller reported that youths were gathering on Forest Street near Rice Road and ringing doorbells. Police were unable to locate the youths.
• At 9:39 p.m., a Lewis Street resident reported a suspicious vehicle on his street, possibly a black BMW. He reported past damage to his wife's car, her window was smashed, and thought the driver of the suspicious vehicle may be planning to vandalize other cars or houses. Police checked the area and found a black Acura parked on the road, unoccupied, and thought the resident may have mistaken that for the other car. The resident requested extra checks on the area throughout the night.

Sunday, May 20

• At 3 a.m., a Winslow Road resident reported an unwanted, intoxicated guest at a graduation party. The male was placed in protective custody and later released to his mother.
• At 11:03 a.m., a caller reported a car accident on Main Street. The injuries were unknown.
• At 11:25 a.m., a Balsam Road resident reported that the mirror on his vehicle was broken off the night before.
• At 11:27 a.m., a John Carver Road resident reported that her lawn ornament was stolen.
• At 9:45 p.m., a caller reported a male and female, who appeared to be intoxicated, causing a scene at the . Their son transported them home.
• At 10:17 p.m., a caller reported a house party on Rocky Road. The resident agreed to turn down the music and moved the party inside.

Monday, May 21

• At 6:22 a.m., a Whittier Road resident reported that someone broke into his vehicle overnight and a multi-purpose tool was missing.
• At 7:02 a.m., a Tennyson Road resident reported that his car was entered overnight and a set of golf clubs were missing.
• At 7:44 a.m., a Nugent Lane resident reported that his car was entered overnight and items were missing.
• At 11:40 a.m., a caller reported graffiti found on walls and hydrants on Salem Street.
• At 11:51 a.m., a caller reported a car accident in a parking lot on Union Street. No injuries were reported.
• At 2:58 p.m., a caller reported that scratch tickets were stolen from a store on Main Street.
• At 3:46 p.m., a caller reported a male being obnoxious on High Street. Police spoke to the male who agreed to take his phone call inside.
• At 4:11 p.m., a Hancock Street resident reported a suspicious motor vehicle in front of her house. The vehicle was a yellow pick-up truck and there was a report that a person was taking items from her yard last week. The driver apologized to the resident and she was satisfied.
• At 4:55 p.m., a Tennyson Road resident reported that his car was entered the night before, but nothing was missing.
• At 5:28 p.m., a Tennyson Road resident reported that his car was entered the night before. His GPS was missing.
• At 6:40 p.m., a caller reported harassing phone calls and text messages.
