Youths Allegedly Throw Firecrackers Out the Window

The following is a look at some of the calls handled by the Reading Police Department from Tuesday through Thursday. The information is open to the public.

Tuesday, July 2

  • At 1:10 a.m. a resident from Winslow Road called police to report a tree that was down in the road.
  • At 8:16 a.m. on Sanborn Lane a 65-year-old woman fell and possibly broke her hip.
  • At 10:47 a.m. the manager of a Main Street business called to report that an employee threatened him.
  • At 5:26 p.m. a woman was walking in the middle of the road on Main Street.
  • At 11:40 p.m. police were called to County Road for a possible underage drinking party in the area.

Wednesday, July 3

  • At 11:13 a.m. officers checked the welfare of a child on Washington Street after a resident told police she could hear a baby screaming.
  • At 1:27 p.m. police spotted a boy in an orange bathing suit running down Vine Street and into the MBTA parking lot.
  • At 5:28 p.m. a golden retrieve was found and brought to the station. The Animal Control Officer handled the situation.
  • At 5:29 p.m. a group of youths allegedly threw fire crackers out the window in the area of Market Basket.

Thursday, July 4

  • At 9:22 a.m. a resident on Belmont Street called police to report their vehicle had been vandalized with damage more than $250 done.
  • At 3:14 p.m. a sickly dog was wandering in the area of Wadsworth Road.
  • At 10:03 p.m. officers in the area of Lowell Street and Salem Street were notified of a possible man down in the square.
