Youths Found Setting Fire on Orchard Park Drive

A sampling of calls handled by Reading Police Department in recent days.

The following information was compiled based on reports from the Reading Police Department and Woburn Police Department. An arrest does no indicate a conviction.

Saturday, Oct. 12

  • At 9:01 a.m. police issued several warnings for drivers ignoring the no left turn signs on Charles Street and Main Street.
  • At 11:22 a.m. a minor crash occurred on Haven Street when a gray Ford sideswiped two cars.
  • At 2:01 p.m. a young man appeared to be lost on Lowell Street.
  • At 2:25 p.m. a resident walked around the gate at the Department of Public Works and dropped off waste oil.
  • At 4:16 p.m. two youths were located setting a small fire outside of an Orchard Park Drive home.
  • At 7:35 p.m. a patron at Grumpy Doyle’s Restaurant was yelling and banging around.

Sunday, Oct. 13

  • At 10:50 a.m. a complaint came in for an old suitcase on a Memorial Park bench with a “free” sign on it.
  • At 4:12 p.m. a money order scam was received in the mail by a Union Street resident.
  • At 4:17 p.m. a man fell, was bleeding from the hand and could not get up off the ground.
  • At 8:45 p.m. a large party was located on Bond Street with youths in the street.
  • At 9:13 p.m. youths were being loud in the area of Washing Street and Washington Park.
  • At 10:53 p.m. an elderly woman reported that her daughter stole her car from a Lowell Street home.
