Are Parking Limitations Coming to Reading Square?

Board of Selectmen to hold public hearing Tuesday.

The Board of Selectmen are expected to hold a public hearing Tuesday to discuss the possibility of parking restrictions on lower Haven Street in Reading Square.

The public hearing advertisement states that officials will consider designating two 30-minute parking spots on lower Haven Street, at the westernmost part of the street, on the north side of the road.

If the parking spots are approved, the restrictions would go into effect on Feb. 11.

In addition to the Haven Street parking, selectmen are also expected to discuss a no-turn-on-red restriction at CVS—at Lowell and Main streets.

The driving limitation is expected to enhance pedestrian safety according to the Parking Traffic Transportation Task Force. The no-turn-on-red would also go into effect on Feb. 11 if approved.
