Fundraising to Start for Lights at Memorial Park

The Friends of Reading Recreation will soon start fundraising to reinstall lights at Memorial Park, according to the Chronicle.

Reading Recreation Administrator John Feudo presented a proposal to the Board of Selectmen this week regarding the lights. Friends of Reading Recreation would cover the cost of the lights through fundraising, the Chronicle said.

The park was renovated in 2010, but there was not enough money to install the lights. If lights were installed, kids could skate and play pick-up hockey again this winter, according to the Chronicle. The six poles and 16 lights would cost $30,000.
