Medical Marijuana Moratorium Among Final Three Town Meeting Items

Subsequent Town Meeting is likely to come to a close on Thursday night with just three articles remaining.

Just three articles remain on the agenda as Subsequent Town Meeting continues on Thursday night at Reading Memorial High School beginning at 7:30 p.m.

On Tuesday night, residents approved a total of 12 articles before a motion to adjourn was passed. The final item to pass was a ban on billboards, which concluded discussion at around 11 p.m.

Now on Thursday night, business will pick back up on Article 13. That article will ask residents to amend the boundary of the PUD-R zoning district to include the abutting parcel of land at Johnson Woods.

Article 14 proposes reasonable requirements per the Dover Amendment as it relates to religious, educational and child care.

The final item scheduled for discussion on Thursday night is a proposed moratorium on medical marijuana. If approved, the moratorium would last through November 2014.
