Patrick is Giving Governor's Office $9 Million Facelift

The renovations include energy-efficient windows, wheelchair ramps, sprinklers, security cameras and new phone and Internet lines.

With a year left in office, Gov. Deval Patrick is planning to spend $9 million to upgrade the governor’s office.

Patrick’s aides said the upgrades will “broaden public access to the historic suite and to repair cracked walls, drafty windows, and aging heating, cooling, and plumbing systems.” The project includes energy-efficient windows, wheelchair ramps, sprinklers, security cameras and new phone and Internet lines, reported The Boston Globe.

The construction is slated to start in August.
