UPDATE: Trash Collection Cancelled, Town Hall Closed Wednesday

Weather affects hours.

Due to the impending snow storm, Wednesday's trash collection is cancelled and Reading Town Hall is closed Wednesday.

According to the town’s web site, the building was scheduled to open at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday morning and close at its regular time—5:30 p.m. But at 10:10 a.m. Wednesday, officials opted to close the building for the day. 

As for trash, the Wednesday trash collection will be done on Thursday. The Thursday and Friday collections will go on as scheduled.

The Zoning Advisory Committee Stakeholder Meeting scheduled for Wednesday at 9 a.m. at the Police Station has been postponed to March 5 at the same time and location.

The Economic Development Committee’s 9 a.m. meeting has also been cancelled, as has the Community Planning and Development Commission’s 9 a.m. session.

The Board of Selectmen, Finance Committee, Board of Library Trustees, Library Building Committee and School Committee were scheduled to meet Wednesday evening, but were cancelled late Wednesday morning.

The town is expected to see 8 to 12 inches of fresh snow on Wednesday. The National Weather Service has issued a “winter storm warning” for Reading from midnight until 6 p.m. Wednesday.
