Governor Backs Reading Parents' Stand Against New Math Curriculum

The Reading Public School District implemented changes to the math curriculum due to Common Core standards, and parents believe that the changes will not prepare their children for college. According to the Chronicle, Governor Deval Patrick supports concerned Reading parents.

A Reading parent and teacher recently called WGBH Boston Public radio and talked to Patrick during an ‘Ask the Governor' segment about Reading's Common Core math curriculum, the Chronicle said. Patrick said that Reading parents have the right to be concerned and that they should take a stand, according to the Chronicle.
