Reading Schools Seek Kindergarten Students

An informational meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 19.

It's still quite a ways away. But believe it or not it isn't too early to start thinking about the Class of 2027.

Reading Public Schools is accepting applications for kindergarten students for the 2014-15 school year. Any child born between September 1, 2008, and August 31, 2009, is eligible.

According to information on the Reading Public Schools website, there are two programs available. A half-day program will be offered with a traditional or integrated model in each building, depending on space. In addition, the schools says there will be at least one tuition-based full-day class in each school.

A parent information night is slated for Tuesday, Nov. 19, at the Killam School beginning at 7 p.m. During the meeting, school officials will discuss the full-day and half-day programs and will also discuss the screening process.

Residents with questions can visit the district website for more information or contact Reading Public Schools Administrative Offices at (781) 944-5800.
