The school building project passed at Special Town Meeting and Special Election. According to school officials, the modular classrooms at the middle school will be moved at the end of this school year. Then, the access road leading up to the existing middle school (where the high school and core facilities will be located) will be constructed.

"The ground breaking will happen soon after with construction of the high school and core facilities following. Much care and sensitivity will be given to the middle school throughout the active school year during the construction," said SSBC member Janene Imbriano.

School officials plan to have the high school and core facilities complete before the 2014-2015 school year begins.

Middle school students will then go to the old high school until the middle school is complete. The new middle school is scheduled to open in the fall of 2015.
