Health & Fitness

Are you making these mistakes when it comes to your health & fitness?

At Snap Fitness, we try to work closely with our members to help them avoid a lot of the mistakes that are so common when it comes to a fitness routine.  Here are two big ones:

Setting unattainable goals
Setting goals in the gym is a great motivator, but setting goals that are too lofty, even unattainable can be discouraging and downright dangerous. Plus, when you set a specific fitness goal, you have created an endpoint in your workout routine. Don’t set overly-ambitious, finite goals based on a number on the scale or a specific measurement. Set lifestyle goals. For example, don’t aim to lose 10 pounds in a month, instead, commit to going to the gym four times a week, and see where that gets you. More often than not, you’ll be surprised by what you achieve when you aren’t fixated on the end result.

Getting stuck in a rut
If a specific diet or exercise routine works for you, that’s great, but don’t get stuck doing the same thing day in and day out. A routine is important when it comes to fitness, but you’ll burn out on the same old routine every day. Mix it up and try something new and you’re more likely to stay interested and motivated.   Consult with a personal trainer for new ideas and creative workouts to keep things fresh.
