Brendan Byrne's First Half Goal Jolts Boys Soccer Over Wilmington

Reading High School snagged a 1-0 road win on Saturday morning.

There wasn't much scoring during the Reading High School boys soccer season opener on Saturday in Wilmington. But the Rockets made the most of their best chance, and snagged a road win over a difficult foe to kick off the 2013 campaign.

Captain Brendan Byrne took a free kick from just inside midfield about 20 minutes into the game and lofted it under the crossbar, scoring the game's only goal and giving his team the eventual 1-0 victory.

The Rockets get right back to work looking to snag another victory on Monday as they host Burlington at 3:45 p.m.
