WEEI Supports 2nd Annual PMC Kids Rides in Reading

Children from pre-kindergarten to the 8th grade will ride continuous loops beginning at Wood End Elementary School as many times as they desire in the allotted time to raise money for a cure. There will also be a route for “tykes on trikes” for younger riders. This year the 2012 PMC Kids Ride in Reading hopes to attract 200 children and are encouraged to sign up as a team or join a team already set up.

WEEI will support the PMC Kids Ride in Reading, Sunday, June 24h from 10:00am- 11:00am to help raise funds for the Jimmy Fund.

PMC Kids Rides give children the opportunity to experience the joy of volunteerism and charitable giving through physical fitness and community spirit. These rides enable children between the ages of pre-K through 8th grade to ride their bikes and solicit sponsors to donate money to cancer research. Money raised through the event goes to the Pan Mass Challenge/Jimmy Fund, the most successful athletic fundraiser in the nation. Kids also have the option to raise funds in the name of a relative or friend fighting cancer or to dedicate their ride to a special person. The PMC Kids Rides program offers children, parents, and neighbors an opportunity to work together to create individual bike-a-thons in neighborhoods, at schools, or in business complexes.
