Field Hockey Playoffs Open Thursday for Reading

The MIAA released its postseason brackets earlier in the week.

The regular season is over. But for the Reading High School field hockey team, there's still more action to come.

Earlier this week the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association released its playoff brackets, and the Lady Rockets will be among the teams vying for a state championship in the upcoming weeks.

Reading put together an impressive record of 14-3-1 this season and as a result earned the No. 7 seed in the North Division 1 tournament.

The team will open its playoff on Thursday at 6 p.m. at home against Chelmsford during a first round match up.

If the Rockets can knock out the Lions, they would face off against either Masconomet or Arlington in the quarterfinal round. That game is currently scheduled for Saturday at 2:30 p.m.
