The Hornets played Newburyport last Friday in what was mostly a one-sided football game. Newburyport won 28 to 7.

Interceptions and fumbles proved costly for North Reading, as Newburyport took control early, and never looked back. Playing with gritty determination, however, prevented the Hornets from a complete shutout, scoring late into the 4th quarter.
