Mark Doherty's Rockets Stack Up With State's Best

The Reading High School boys hockey team is in the Super 8 thanks to the leadership of the coach who has been involved with the program since 1984.

Reading High School boys hockey head coach Mark Doherty has seen his team play some of the top team teams in the state and he's seen one thing. The Rockets stack up with all of them.

The fourth year mentor has been an assistant with the Rockets since 1984 when he graduated from the University of New Hampshire. He took over after his father retired as head coach in 2009.

Doherty's charges open their Super 8 series with Austin Prep on Sunday, reportedly at Lowell's Tsongas Center.
