PLAYOFF TIME: Reading Football Opens Friday Versus Wakefield

Kickoff comes at 7 p.m. Friday night at Reading Memorial High School.

The Reading High School football team opened the year with championship expectations. On Friday night, the Rockets can take another step towards their ultimate goal. Here are five things to know about Reading's playoff opener.

Who, What, When, Where: With a 5-1 regular season, the Rockets earned a rating of 13.33 in North Division 2, good for the No. 2 seed. The locals will now host Cambridge Rindge & Latin at 7 p.m. on Friday night in the quarterfinal round.

Scouting the Falcons: Cambridge earned its playoff spot with a 3-5 regular season record in the Greater Boston League. That was good enough for a postseason berth because the team played difficult opponents and thus had a high enough weighted rating. The Falcons scored 26.3 points per game on average and held opponents to 24.3 points per contest.
