The Reading bats were on fire on Wednesday when Varsity Baseball took on Belmont at Morton Field. The bases were loaded with Reading Seniors Greg Altobello, Paul Andrick and Mac Cook when Senior Anthony Desimone came to the plate and doubled which drove in all three runners and Reading took the lead 3-0 in the first inning.
Reading's defense was just as strong as the offense as Belmont was held to one run throughout the whole game. Junior Garrett Colantino pitched six innings for the win and Sophomore Sean O'Neill came in as the closer.
Reading defeated Belmont 11-1 and now stands 6-0 in Middlesex League action, 3-0 in the large division. Reading will face Arlington on Friday, April 27 at 3:45 p.m. at Arlington High School. This is Arlington's first year in the Middlesex League.
