Reading Boys Basketball Upset Bid Falls Just Short

The Rockets were eliminated from the postseason on Tuesday night with a 60-57 road loss to New Mission.

The Reading High School boys basketball team's stay in the North Division 2 postseason was a short one. But for the Rockets, it was mission accomplished in proving they belonged in the bracket.

New Mission, the No. 8 seed in the tournament, snuck past No. 9 Reading by a 60-57 margin in the teams' preliminary round.

Following the loss, the Rockets' campaign came to a close with a record of 12-7. The team graduates five seniors from this year's squad.

Congratulations to the Rockets. Although the score does not indicate a victory, our Rockets were victorious. They took a team that is favored to win the D-2 title to the final shot of the game. They never gave up and left all they had on the floor. Truly an inspiration to the community of Reading. Thanks Fellas! Leo DeSimone
