Reading Girls' Hoops Remain Unbeaten, Boys' Move Towards Tourney

Strong third quarters allowed Reading High School Girls' and Boys' Basketball to pull away from Belmont High School at home and away games on Friday, Jan. 11.

Senior all-star Olivia Healy scored 19 points to lead the Rockets to a 57-39 home victory over the Marauders (7-2) which could not handle Reading's full-court press.
Siobhan O’Sullivan (11 points) and Junior Sarah Hasse (12 points) helped Healy to keep the Rocket's undefeated this season at 8-0.

Yet possibly for the first time in her career, Healy – the two-time Middlesex League MVP who will be playing Div. 1 basketball for the University of Richmond – was not the top scoring Olivia on the court as Belmont's Olivia Lyons put in 22 points along with 13 rebounds.

The Reading Boys' outscored the Marauders, 27 to 13, in the third quarter to pull away to an easy 86-63 away victory Friday night, Jan. 11 in Belmont.

Rocket senior forward Chris Godwin (who would finish with a game high 26 points) put in eight points on the inside in the deciding third quarter as sophomore guard Mike Algeri (14 points) hit a pair of threes to end the quarter with 9 points.
