Reading Pop Warner One Win From National Title

The locals play on Thursday in their final game of the season, hoping to come home with the crown.

Reading Pop Warner brought home a cheerleading national title on Monday. On Thursday, the league can make it two for two as Reading's football team hopes to earn its own national championship.

On Monday, the Reading Pop Warner A Team toppled Pawtucket, R.I., 16-14 in the national semifinal of the Unlimited Football Division.

Thanks to the victory, the Rockets will take on a team from Shaker Heights, ohio, on Thursday at 3 p.m. The winning team will be crowned Unlimited Bowl champions in the first year of this division.

In its semifinal contest, the Shaker Fire Raiders took on the Calumet City Thunderbolts out of Illinois. It was the Raiders who were victorious by a 31-25 margin.
