Take a look at some photos of Reading's "boys of summer," the Bulldogs baseball team.

As the dog days of summer are heating up, the Reading Bulldogs continue to remain hot as well, sitting near the top of the Boston Intercity Baseball League standings.

The locals got an outstanding pitching performance from starter Kevin Church during a road tilt in Wakefield on Wednesday, but were forced to settle for a 1-1 tie.

According to the team's website, Bill Cataldo had his second hit of the day to get on base, then scored from second on a Dante Padovani double in the top of the seventh to give the Bulldogs a 1-0 edge. But Wakefield tied things up in the home half of the inning and the game ended in a tie after nine frames.

Following the draw, Reading is now 12-6-2 on the year, which is good for second place behind the 14-5 Andrew Chiefs.
