Choral Department Hosts Successful Karaoke Night
By Melissa Clark ('15)
On Friday, October 12 in the school cafeteria, the choral department of RMHS had a fundraiser called Karaoke Night.
Any student who went to Karaoke Night submitted their song choices to the officers of the chorus. Then, when each individual name was called a student would approach the stage and entertain the crowd by singing lyrics that were projected on a computer screen. There was a big list of songs to choose from. Many kids sang songs from Broadway musicals. Some of these kids even had a skit that went along with the song. Choral officers Stephen West and Jacob Camenker added a little dance with their song choice.
Junior Nina Lukens thought the night was a success and encourages kids to go to the next Karaoke Night in the spring. “I think we are having another one in the spring,” said Lukens. “I definitely think that people should go to it because it is really fun and you don’t have to be in chorus to do it. You can just ago and hang with your friends and have a good time, and there’s food.”
I went myself and had a great time, and I totally recommend it for anyone who loves to sing or just watch people sing.
