Holiday Fairs and a Band Performance This Weekend in Reading

There are a variety of events happening this weekend in Reading, and here are a few of them to help you plan your time off.

The weekend is here and there are plenty of things to do in Reading and the surrounding area in the upcoming days.

Holiday Faire: On Friday at 5 p.m., St. Athanasius on Haverhill Street holds its Holiday Faire. The event includes a White Elephant Room, jewelry treasures, crafts and a North Pole Toy Shoppe with gently used toys. Mrs. Clause will visit the event and there will be food items as well.

Polar Bear Fair: On Saturday at 10 a.m., the Polar Bear Fair returns to Wood End School. The fair includes vendors, raffles, a cookie walk and more.

Band Performance: The Reading Civic Band plays on Sunday at 3 p.m. in the Parker Middle School auditorium. The performance is called "Out of the Shadows," and according to the concert event page, it features "musical gems that have either been obscured over time, upstaged by events, lie buried within larger works, or were written as backdrop for some other form."

Santa Paws: Not far outside of Reading, residents are invited to the Burlington Mall on Sunday at 6:30 p.m. to bring their pets to have a photograph taken with Santa Claus. Head over to the Patch event page for more details.
