Here's a look at some exciting events happening in the coming days in Reading and beyond.

The weekend is here and there are plenty of things to do in Reading and the surrounding area in the upcoming days.

Semifinal Football: The Reading High School football team continues its quest for a state championship on Friday night. The Rockets host Waltham at 7 p.m. in the North Division 2 semifinal after advancing with last week's dramatic win over Cambridge.

Opening Weekend: The Quannapowitt Players of Reading hold opening night of their new play Becky's New Car on Friday at 8 p.m. There is an additional weekend showing on Saturday at 8 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m. as well. The play has been described as a “smart, comic cruise through the perils of middle-aged longing and regret.”

Kris Kringle Fair: On Saturday from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. there will be a Kris Kringle holiday fair that includes many items for sale and also several silent auction items as well. There's even an area where kids can shop for inexpensive items to give their parents, grandparents, and others. The event takes place at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Reading on Woburn Street.
