Arthur W. Coolidge Middle School is a New England League of Middle School Spotlight School and a National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence Lighthouse School. It was built in 1961 and named for Arthur W. Coolidge, who served as Massachusetts lieutenant governor, state representative and state senator. He was also a Reading School Committee member. There are 137 classes in core academic areas.
