The North Shore Skating Club has been providing ice skating lessons and training for North Shore residents of allMore ages since 1948. It is currently housed in the Burbank Ice Arena in Reading. It also uses the Hockeytown arena in Saugus. Freestyle skating open times are hosted seven days a week. Club members and non-members are both welcome to sign up for open skate. 

The North Shore Skating Club has both senior and junior skating clubs. Both groups are trained and prepared for skate competitions. The Senior Club represents the club in competitions. The club is affiliated with the U.S. Figure Skating Organization. The instructors are experienced and professional figure skaters and they will encourage students to reach full potential. It has an annual awards ceremony recognizing skating members who exemplify certain criteria. All members perform in the annual Ice Spectacular expose.

LaPierre School of Dance

In the basement of Longwood Place there is a dance school that has maintained popularity in Reading for decades. TheMore La Pierre School of Dance was founded with the mission of teaching children the pleasure and art of ballet. Today ballet is just one dance style taught at LaPierre. 

Classes are open to all ages and experience. Student's advancements to advanced courses are determined by their development. For those wishing to participate more than regular classes, workshops, competitions and summer programs are also offered.

At the end of every year, students participate in a exposition recital. The La Pierre School of Dance also performs at the Reading Fall Street Faire.

Reading Gymnastics Academy

Since opening nearly 30 years ago, RGA has produced many champions at regional, state and national levels.  TheyMore offer several programs for all ages. PlayGym is an interactive class for ages 1-3 with guardians (grandparents welcome!).  Jr. Gymnast classes are pre-training classes for ages 3-5.  Gymnast programs run nine to thirty-six weeks for ages 5-18  and have a 1:8 student-teacher ratio. The small ratio permits more one-on-one focus for maximum development.  They also offer Boys Power Tumbling classes for ages 5-18. For the more accomplished gymnast, instructors choose the Gymnastic Team members for USA Gymnastic competitions. 

Reading Gymnastics Academy has a limited enrollment, so early registration is strongly recommended.  For class times and rates call or check the Web site for more information. Registration can be done in person or on-line.
