Reading Memorial High School

The first Reading Memorial High School was built on Oakland Road in 1957. The school was dedicated to ReadingMore soldiers of WWII and Korea. A renovated RMHS opened in 2007.

A reflection area outside the school is in tribute to those who served and died while fighting for this country.

The North Reading Housing Authority provides affordable housing for elderly and disabled residents of North Reading. TheMore Authority is located in the Peabody Court complex, which is located between the high school and the Batchelder School. The board of the North Reading Housing Authority meets on the second Tuesday of each month at 7 pm in the Peabody Court common room. Meetings are held from September through June.

Built in 1957, Birch Meadow Elementary School was the second school constructed in the Birch Meadow area followingMore Reading Memorial High School. The school is located on Arthur B. Lord Drive, which was named after a former superintendent of schools.

Birch Meadow follows the Reading Public Schools' mission statement:

"The Reading Public Schools strive to ensure that all students will have common challenging, meaningful learning experiences in the academics, health and wellness, the arts, community service, co-curricular activities and athletics. We will lead and manage our school community to reflect the values and culture of the Reading Community and guide and support our students to develop the appropriate skills, strategies, creativity and knowledge necessary to be productive informed independent citizens in a global society."
