Launched in 1958, the Reading Art Association promotes the works of local residents and donates to charitable causesMore such as the Reading Public Library and the Reading Scholarship Fund. 

The association meets on the second Wednesday of each month from September to June in the First Congregational Church of Reading. The meetings include demonstrations of painting techniques and discussion topics.
