Brown Distances Himself From Romney's Comments

Brown reportedly said Romney's comments are at odds with his own view of the world.

In the firestorm ignited over GOP Presidential Nominee Mitt Romney, Sen. Scott Brown is voicing his disagreement with the former Massachusetts governor. Romney made national headlines when a video was leaked of him at a fundraiser telling donors that that 47 percent of Americans are dependent on the government, feel entitled and will never vote for him. Brown reportedly told The Hill -- a publication that reports about Congress -- that Romney's comments don't reflect his beliefs. "That’s not the way I view the world," Brown is quoted as writing in an email. "As someone who grew up in tough circumstances, I know that being on public assistance is not a spot that anyone wants to be in. Too many people today who want to work are being …

Green is an alternate Delegate.

Donald M. Green was an alternate delegate at the Democratic National Convention (DNC) this year. He is a physician and Reading resident. Green is a Democrat, and proud of his party because they "level the playing field" by making sure that one person has the same opportunity as the next, he said. "I think that they want to give as many people economic and social opportunities in this country as possible, and I think that most of the members are very strong about that ideal," he said.   Green has been a member of the Reading Democratic Town Committee for 10 years, he said. He decided to run for a delegate position after receiving an email about the opportunity. He went to Town Committee meetings to talk to people about it and sent out …

Warren at DNC: The System is Rigged Against the Middle Class

Elizabeth Warren, the Democratic nominee for the U.S. Senate from Massachusetts, spoke at the Democratic National Convention on Wednesday night. What did you think of her speech?

The system is rigged against middle class families, and unchecked corporate greed will take us all down, according to Massachusetts U.S. Senate candidate Elizabeth Warren who spoke at the Democratic National Convention on Wednesday night.  "Each generation built something solid so that the next generation could build something better," she said. "But not for many years. Talk to the construction worker from Malden who went nine months without a job... Talk to the student in Worcester who worked hard to finish his degree and now he's drowning in debt...The system is rigged against them." Warren, who took the stage just prior to former president Bill Clinton, said Romney's plan to lower the richest American's taxes would send the economy …

Mass. Auditor Trashes Romney, Defends Obama

Democrats say Romney was bad for the Bay State.

CHARLOTTE — State Auditor Suzanne Bump vouched for President Barack Obama's record on jobs while jabbing at former Gov. Mitt Romney's job-creation credentials during an appearance Monday at the Democratic National Convention. "Mitt Romney talked about his focus being on jobs … the reality is that he was not a job creator when he was in Massachusetts," said Bump at a Massachusetts delegation breakfast. "He used the same tired strategies of Republicans before him." Criticism for Romney, who governed the state from 2003 to 2007, was plentiful at the morning event. "We try to block out those dark years," said Chairman John Walsh. "But you have a responsibility to tell people about Mitt Romney." Walsh contends the Bay State ranked 47th in job …

Suzanne Bump is a such a joke even the Globe endorsed her Republican opponent Connaughton in the last election. She's the one who tried to writeoff both of her homes as business deductions. And why is an auditor getting involved in politics any way they are supposed to be taking an independant role.   more ›
