Today is Sept. 11, and as a reminder of this day, we wanted to give you some space to share your thoughts with the community. Maybe you were in New York City, Washington D.C. or Pennsylvania on that day or, perhaps, your friends or family were. Maybe you were right here in your home town. Wherever you were, we're sure you remember Sept. 11, 2001, and the impact it has had on our country. We want to know — Did Sept. 11 change you? What are your thoughts now, 11 years later? Following the morning's dedication of the Kevin McCarthy, 9/11 Memorial at Reading Memorial High School, town, state and federal leaders gathered on Town Common for a ceremony noting the day and its decade-old history.

At a 10 a.m. ceremony at Reading Memorial High School Sunday morning, members of state and town government along with relatives of Kevin McCarthy, Reading's sole casualty in the Sept. 11 2001 terrorist attacks, dedicated a new memorial to McCarthy and all the victims of the attacks.
North Reading assembles at Ipswich River park to remember Sept. 11.
After a decade of living in the shadow of the horrible events of 9/11, North Reading assembled to remember those lost, heroic acts, and the lasting impact it had on the nation and the community. The event featured a memorial for firefighters and first responders with a massive flag suspended between two fire truck ladders, several speakers, and food and entertainment at Ipswich River Park.
