Georgia Family Wins Patch's Deck the House Contest

The Felix family from Dallas, GA received thousands of votes to win Patch's Deck the House contest and $100,000 for their local school district.

In this year's Deck the House contest, the second time was the charm. Joseph Felix's home in Dallas, GA outshined the other 24 finalists to win the 2012 Deck the House contest and $100,000 for the Paulding County, GA school district. After placing second in the nationwide voting in the 2011 contest, the Felix home received nearly 11,000 votes this year to finally win Deck the House. The home, with 100,000 computer animated holiday lights choreographed to Mariah Carey's "All I Want for Christmas is You," received about 300 more votes than a home in Coventry, R.I., which finished in second place. According to users who voted in our annual Deck the House contest, a North Reading home submitted by Leane Scott had the best holiday lights in …

Who has the best “decked” house in Reading or North Reading?  According to users who voted in our annual Deck the House contest, this home submitted by Leane Scott has the best holiday lights in Reading and North Reading. "We are so excited to win! Thank you!," Scott said. "It took my husband two days to get all the lights up, including several trips back to Walmart to put more... lol! We decorate every year and have lived in North Reading for 15 years. About three to four years ago, we added a second floor onto our house and it became a must to get to the rooftops! My youngest son, Derek age five, holds a laundry basket at the bottom of the ladder in case dad falls so he can 'catch' him in the basket. Winning this will certainly inspire …
