North Reading to Receive Additional Funding From State for Road Work
Governor Deval Patrick signs $200 million Chapter 90 bill, which includes $488,273 for North Reading. Some of the money may be used to help offset snow and ice budget costs this year.
Gov. Deval Patrick signed a bill on April 11 to provide a record $200 million to be appropriated to towns for local roads and bridges, multi-use path projects or related needs, according to a press release from the office of Governor Deval Patrick. The allocation is a 29 percent increase in Chapter 90 funding, and aims at repairing the state’s infrastructure as well as creating construction jobs. "These funds will help create and preserve jobs, while continuing our historic investment in rebuilding our transportation infrastructure," said Patrick, according to the press release. Lt. Gov.
