The Season Is Here: Where to Get Flu Shots in Reading and North Reading

Here's where to get an influenza vaccine, how to recognize symptoms and what to know about treatment if you get sick.

Flu season is coming early in parts of the United States: This time last year, flu cases were lower in Massachusetts than they are now, according to data on Google's Flu Trends. (Reading-North Reading-specific data is not available on Flu Trends.) 5 Tips to Guard Against the Flu

A hint: One is occurring today at Town Hall.

North Reading holds its third and final flu clinic of the year today at Town Hall from 4:30-7 p.m., giving residents one last chance to get a free flu shot. Anyone living in North Reading or surrounding towns is eligible for a flu shot at the clinic, said North Reading Health Agent Martin Fair. People are advised to bring their health insurance card to the clinic so the Board of Health may be reimbursed for the shots, but an insurance card is not required to receive a vaccination. "The No. 1 thing you can probably do [to prevent the flu] is get a flu shot," Fair said. "The peak of the flu season is around February and March. There is still time to get a shot."
