Car accident claimed the life of resident Nicola Torra.
Police have identified the person killed in a car accident on Monday afternoon. 72-year-old Nicola Torra, of Aspen Road was driving east bound on North Street near where it intersects with Wyoming Avenue when Torra crashed into a tree near 53 North Street. The car's front end was severely damaged. Both the North Reading Police and Fire Departments rushed to the scene after receiving several emergency calls. The Massachusetts State Police Accident Reconstruction Team and Detectives from the North Reading Police Department are still investigating the cause of the accident.

Car accident on North Street resulted in death of driver.
The North Reading resident whose car struck a tree on Monday afternoon on North Street has died. The man, who police are declining to identify at this time, was taken to Lahey Clinic from the scene. The accident happened at the corner of North Street and Wyoming Avenue. The driver struck a tree in a North Street yard, causing the front bumper of the vehicle to fall off. Originally, public safety personnel requested a MedFlight to land at Town Hall, but the patient was transported to Lahey Clinic in an ambulance.
