North Reading Parks and Recreation Improves Clarke Park

Clarke Park was improved and has new equipment.

Earlier this Fall the North Reading Parks and Recreation Department started working on improvements at Clarke Park. The work is complete and the park now has several new additions. According to Parks and Recreation Operations Director/Department Head Maureen Stevens the playground improvements were complete as of last week. The old wooden climbing structures were removed to make room for the new equipment.  The park now has a new climbing structure, a whale and frog spring rider, a tether ball pole, bike rack and merry-go-round. There is also new mulch in the tot lot, which is playground mulch not regular mulch. The North Reading Community Band performed live alongside the water.

Thursday was a the hottest day of the summer so far, but even hotter were the tunes played by the North Reading Community Band. The band performed a live concert at Clarke Park on the edge of Martin's Pond. They played selections from the musical Wicked, Luck Be a Lady, and Cabaret.
