Visions for Vacancies

What Would You Like to See at the Former Registry Location?

The former Massachusetts Registry location has been vacant since 2007.

The former Registry of Motor Vehicles location on Salem Street in Reading has been vacant since the state moved the local registry branch to Wilmington in 2007. The 17,500 square-foot space at 273-275 Salem St., is just off the highway and is sandwiched between REI and Dunkin’ Donuts.  In its flyer about the property, Boylston Realty listed 202 parking spaces and average daily traffic counts of 14,900 vehicles on Salem Street and 153,022 on Route 95/128. So, we want to know – what would you like to go at the former Registry location? Does a department store make sense? How about a bargain store? Or would you rather see it become something else? Let us know in the comments section.
