With the beginning of the new year, it feels like a nice time to thank everyone in the community who has supported The Chocolate Truffle throughout 2012. As participants in the annual Shop the Block event and supporters of the national Buy Local initiative, we thank everyone who chose to spend their shopping dollars in Reading, and particularly at our store. And, we are proud to say, we were able to give back to the community we live and work in through our Fundraising Days Partnership Program. Through our Fundraising Days Partnership Program, we were able to contribute $681 last year, with $241.68 going to Understanding Disabilities. Thank you to the Reading North Reading Chamber of Commerce for organizing the first Cash Mob and for choosing The Chocolate Truffle as the first business to be “mobbed.” I really appreciate the dedicated community members who came out to support my local business keeping with the important Chamber message “Buy Local: Keep Your Town Alive to Thrive.” The evening was very successful and a fun opportunity to see some old friends and make new ones. Thank you to Chamber Executive Director Julie Higgins and the Board for your time and effort; the Reading North Reading Chamber of Commerce continues to be a strong advocate for our local business making a difference in our communities.
