The following release comes from the town of Reading. On Saturday, October 29, 2011 at 9:00 AM there will be a controlled demolition (a process known as “implosion”) of a six story building located at 1 Jacob Way off South Street in Reading. Controlled Demolition Incorporated has been retained to demolish the building using a small amount of carefully placed explosives. In advance of the building demolition, Controlled Demolition Incorporated will be conducting an isolated test blast on Thursday, October 27, 2011. This test blast will be on one building column and is important for the contractor to design his demolition plan.
