NRHS Senior to Perform at John Hancock, Boston

Janelle Yull won first place in the 2013 Doug Ingalls Audition Scholarship after performing along with 100 other hopefuls.

North Reading High School senior Janelle Yull won first place in the 2013 Doug Ingalls Audition Scholarship through the Massachusetts Educational Drama Guild after performing along with 100 other hopefuls. She will perform her audition monologues on the John Hancock stage in Boston in March. Around 100 students competed for the audition scholarship in late December at St. John's Prep. The students performed two contrasting monologues in front of judges and the other competitors. Yull performed monologues from 2.5 Minute Ride by Lisa Kron and Shape of a Girl by Joan MacKleod. "It was a fun experience, it was really enjoyable,” Yull said. She says she "knows the process of waiting," which eased her nerves and allowed her to focus on the …
