Alleged Serial Gun-Wielding Robber Arrested by Stoneham Police

Police believe that 19-year-old Taylor A. Goulding is connected to seven recent armed robberies in Reading, Stoneham, Woburn, Winchester and Melrose.

Stoneham Police have arrested a 19-year-old in connection with seven recent armed robberies in the area, including Reading, the department announced in a press release on Thursday morning. Taylor A. Goulding of Stoneham is charged with two counts of armed robbery while being masked and one count of attempted armed robbery while being masked for the three robberies that occurred in Stoneham on Oct. 30 at DB Mart, Nov. 1 at Sunset Tanning and Nov. 11 at C-Store. In each of those robberies, the suspect was described as a white male, wearing a black ski mask, black sweatshirt, black pants, black gloves, black and white sneakers, and brandishing a black handgun, according to Stoneham Police. Accused Bank Robber Held Without Bail, Chelmsford Charges Pending

The accused is an Afghanistan War veteran who says he developed a drug problem after returning from war.

An Afghanistan War veteran charged with robbing Citizens Bank in North Andover Saturday as well as a recent bank robbery in Salem, N.H., is held without bail. And prosecutors say charges are expected this afternoon for a recent Chelmsford robbery and soon after for the recent robbery of Stop & Shop in Reading. Joseph Costello, 26, of Wilmington, was arraigned in Lawrence District Court Tuesday and ordered to be held on $100,000 cash bail for the North Andover robbery and held without bail pending extradition for the Salem, N.H., robbery. Costello allegedly walked into a North Andover Citizens Bank Saturday at about 4:30 p.m. and demanded the tellers give him money, saying he had explosives in the bank. Bank Robbing Suspect Arrested

The man is suspected of robbing multiple banks in the area.

Police have made an arrest in connection with a number of local bank robberies, including crimes in Reading, North Andover, Chelmsford and Salem, N.H. Joseph Costello, 26, of 52 Lawrence Drive, Lowell, was arrested Tuesday for attempted armed robbery after investigation by police in the four communities. Costello allegedly walked into Citizens Bank in North Andover Saturday at about 4:30 p.m. and demanded the tellers give him money, saying he had explosives in the bank. After a teller told him to take off his sunglasses, he allegedly fled without getting any cash.
