Bicycles are not aloowed to ride on sidewalks in Mass. I know it happens but it is not allowed for several reasons the main one being the safety of the persons using the sidewalks.

There are the same number of traffic light in the Square as there was before the renovation. There was 5 traffic lights then and there are 5 tradffic lights now. One was taken out and one was added.

ReplyFor many years the traffic lights were timed so you would get all green lights so the traffic would move through the Square without any traffic jams. They were also timed so at one point on every cycle there would be no cars in the Square waiting at a red light.
It worked fine then and it would work fine now. I can remember a town official saying the town wanted to do this to deter people from driving down Rt.28 through the Square. This is not a saftey issue. No one speeds through the Square during rush hour. The traffic lights could be re-programed to the way it was and should be. -
